SANEline – 0300 304 7000
You can call the SANEline, a local rate telephone number 0300 304 7000 to contact a mental health specialist for confidential emotional support. For instance, you can call this number if you have taken the step to receive support for depression, self-harm or if you are having suicidal thoughts. However, the support service can provide help and information for anyone affected by a mental illness including families, friends and carers. Along with providing over-the-phone emotional support, a member of SANE staff can suggest further options to help address your individual circumstances. For instance, a representative can both direct callers to their nearest healthcare professional, or suggest ways to feel part of the wider SANE community such as in groups that are aimed to tackle the stigma of mental illness.
Cost of Calling SANEline
As the SANEline uses a contact number that starts with an 03 area code, it will cost the same per-minute rate as any local call made from a UK landline or mobile phone. However, the mental health support service may be free to contact if your landline deal includes free calls to local rate numbers or if your mobile tariff has inclusive free minutes. Furthermore, callers should be aware that the SANEline has the specific opening hours of 4.30pm–10.30pm Monday to Sunday, with lines unavailable throughout the morning.
